Coconut oil is an incredibly useful fat. I use it in my sugar scrub (more about that later), but I’ve never used it to cook. I wanted to share my first experiment with you.
Every morning I make potatoes. I know they aren’t too healthy, but I LOVE THEM!! So this morning I opened up my coconut oil and dropped a spoonful in my pan.
This is what the container looks like, and the inside (I’ve taken a few scoops out).
So to make my potatoes, I bake 2 potatoes in my microwave, and then fry them with some Camp Mix (its a local seasoning with salt, pepper, paprika, and a few other things). It’s pretty simple, but I somehow never make them the same way twice.
See the bubbling (and my sad pan handle? I swear it’s clean!).
It made my kitchen smell a little weird (like coconut, so expected, but still weird), but it tasted pretty much the same. YAY success!!
